To really know White Sands you must spend many winter nights sleeping in the dunes. Night brings cold and disorientation, making escape difficult. The morning brings surprise: frost that quickly evaporates in the dry air and perhaps a sunrise that ignites the high clouds and pastels the white dunes. |
